For years my former pastor encouraged me to get into small group. I would not do it. Why? Fear. Fear of this, fear of that. My list of "reasons" why I could not do it was quite long. When I finally joined a small group here at Calvary, I was hooked. I ended up joining and attending a total of 3 every week! (by the way, none of my "fears" came true).
The groups are informal, laid back-- come as you are, be yourself. Participation is optional... meaning you can attend and say nothing if you wish, or you can speak up if you want. If you attend and never speak up, you will still benefit from being around other believers. I know I have.
If you decide it's not for you, you can always stop. No long term commitment required.
If you are unemployed like I was, you need small group. If you are having marriage problems or financial problems, you need small group. We all can benefit from small groups in good times, and especially during bad times...
Proverbs 27:17
As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.
I thank God for the small groups and all the people here at this Great little church in Riva. God bless this church and all the people here... I appreciate all of you... :) |

My friend Crissy and her two children will be traveling to Australia for four months for her job. Because of some issues with the visa application for the kids, she had to rely on the courts. God was obviously in the courtroom. She sends her thanks to our prayer warriors as do I. It is awesome how strong our prayer voices are how AWESOME our God is. |

I just want to take a moment to give PRAISE to our Lord and Savior -- for He is so AMAZING!
Earlier this week, I woke up in a funk -- I didn't want to face another day of our "chaotic household". The stress had been building and I felt myself ready to blow up. I had a very negative attitude. Satan was working on me in a major way.
However, I forced myself to get out of bed-- but before I started with my morning routine of feeding the critters, I went out to the deck and just looked around and was so overwhelmed by God's Power and Majesty. I raised my hands and looked to the sky and asked Him to help me. That's all it took.
I was amazed -- the negative attitude was gone. In it's place was a calm, reassuring feeling -- PEACE.
Oh, the day was still chaotic, but my attitude was so different! The challenges became a way to reach out to my family members with Jesus' love. AMAZING!! I felt so blessed! |

Just wanted to share the power of prayer and God's love with what's been going on in my life. Financially I have been going through a difficult time. There were problems with child support, which in turn put a strain on me. Through prayer and FAITH, the Lord has provided for Nathan and I over, and over, and yes, over. He still has Nathan and I in the palm of His hands. In case you are wondering if your issues and concerns can fit in those hands...Let me remind you of the size of those loving hands..."He's got the WHOLE world in His hands, He's got the whole world in His hands, He's got you and me brother in His hands, He's got you and me sister, in His hands" There's always room for you with the Lord!!! |

Well, our Women's retreat is over and I'm still in the afterglow! We had twice as many women staying than years before, but I saw connectedness, love abounding, God comforting, all smiling, laughter, tears of joy and I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL NEXT YEAR. Thank you Lord for your unbounding gifts, grace and love thru all these women!
Thank you gals for allowing me to know you in deeper more joyous ways...........
It works and flows so well I don't even have to be CF anymore, what a transformation!
Love, Edna-Wynne |

Still being new to Calvary I am still trying to find my way around. I have been a believer for as long as I can remember but I don't think I have ever been in a church so filled with love and acceptance as Calvary is. I genuinely love being here. I thank God for bringing Kellie (My Best Friend/Adopted by the heart, Sister) back into my life. I believe me being here at Calvary is just one reason God brought Kellie and I back together. This church is awesome!!! |

Don't ever stop praying for your loved ones! I prayed for Mandy for 7 years, and had my Tuesday night Bible Study and friends and family also praying for her. Three months before we got married, she gave her life to Christ! And now, on Sunday, September 9th, I'm going to watch my wife be baptized! Praise the Lord!!! |

When we are faithful to God in our finances, He is faithful in them too. This past month I was not paid because the company I work for is going out of business. But God blessed us with the same amount of money I would have been paid in two other ways - one from a freelance job, and one from Mandy's work bonus. He is awesome! |
